Police in Maclear are ensuring that their residents do not flout the lockdown level 4 regulations by continuously policing their areas and dealing with offenders.
On 12 July 2021, the Station Commander led operations in the area in an effort to clamp down on the illegal sale of alcohol.
While patrolling the area at about 15:15 a 48-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in liquor at Nqanaweni tavern. A huge quantity of liquor was confiscated.
The suspect was fined and is expected to appear in the Maclear Magistrates’ court.
