A multi-disciplinary police operation has resulted in the arrest of three suspects linked to a recent kidnapping and armed robbery in Whittlesea.

The successful operation was conducted by Komani Crime Intelligence in collaboration with members of the Whittlesea SAPS, Gqeberha Tactical Response Team (TRT), the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI/Hawks), the Komani K9 Unit, and the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) from Gqeberha.

According to police, the operation was launched following a tip-off related to a case reported on Saturday, 28 September 2025. In the incident, a victim was robbed and subsequently kidnapped from his shop in Whittlesea.

Acting on the developed information, officers tracked the suspects to Gqeberha on Tuesday, 30 September 2025. Members of the TRT successfully located the suspect vehicle, which was occupied by four individuals.

A search of the vehicle led to the confiscation of bags filled with new clothes, along with slips from various banks.

Following this discovery, police proceeded to a nearby house connected to the suspects. There, they discovered and seized an unlicensed firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Three male suspects, aged between 19 and 27, were arrested on the spot. They have been charged with armed robbery and kidnapping and are expected to appear before the Whittlesea Magistrate’s Court soon.
