Back to Basics Safer Festive Season Operation was today held at the Mdantsane taxi rank as identified through intelligence gathering and these were the successes:
A 25 year old male arrested for possession of dagga, 44 year old male arrested for possession of dagga, dealing in drugs, illegal possession of ammunition and possession of suspected stolen property, 24 year old male arrested for possession of dagga, a stolen motor vehicle was recovered, 8 spaza shops and 3 shebeens were closed for non-compliance and fines were issued.
An amount of R7 200.00 was confiscated as proceeds of illegal trade and dangerous weapons like knives and pangas were seized.
