Once more Station Commanders, police members, detectives together with NIU did not rest on the night of 9 November 2019, as they were turning the tide against crime in King Williams Town and Dimbaza policing areas. The parade was briefed by Colonel Mrwebi and operations were conducted from 19:00 till 02:00 on the morning of 10 November 2019.

Members worked tirelessly last night in ensuring that the community is safe and secured, all problematic taverns were visited and community members were warned not to drink in public. In the Dimbaza area, a tavern was closed for noncompliance and police ensured that the customers left the tavern.

Police increased high visibility with blue lamps patrols, stop and searches and visiting of taverns and ATMs.

Police and detective members arrested more than twenty suspects aged between 21 and 43 years for housebreaking and theft, assault, contravention of protection order, malicious damage to property and dealing in dagga. As part of crime prevention duties police confiscated dangerous weapons.

The Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga thanked the members for their dedication in these operations and encouraged them to do more. Our presence and patrols in our policing precincts with blue lamps give hope to the community and together with the community members we can conquer crime in our policing precincts, he concluded.

The suspects will appear at King Williams Town and Dimbaza Magistrate Courts.
