SAPS Special Operations for the Festive Season are well underway in the Motherwell Cluster.
On 1 December 2017, with the Festive Season drawing in, SAPS in Motherwell Cluster, including stations of Motherwell, Ikamvelihle, Swartkops, Kwazakele, New Brighton and Kwadwesi joined forces to conduct Operation Fiela 2 in it’s station areas.
Some of the focus areas were drunken driving, tavern compliance with their liquor licences, transporting of stolen and illegal goods and tracing of wanted suspects.
Three taverns were issued with compliance notices for failures to display their liquor licences and one notice for failure to register a business in terms of the Second Hand Goods Act.
One undocumented vehicle, a black Audi A4 was confiscated for further investigation.
Seven wanted suspects were arrested on warrants of arrest. One for murder, one for theft, two for assault, two for possession of dagga, and one for contravention of protection order.
