Persistent Cambridge detective on 23 April 2021, arrested the suspect to solve murder of 8-year-old girl that was killed in Dorchester Heights informal settlement two months ago.
It is alleged that a resident went to check his garden not far from the shacks and discovered a partly decomposed half naked unknown body lying over his crops covered with a blanket.
The persistent detective, Sergeant Bulelani Mgubo started his investigation since then and gathered critical information through his sources. He arrested the suspect with assistance of Cambridge crime prevention police in Southernwood.
The circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive for the murder forms part of the investigation.
The 39-year-old suspect is due to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of murder.
Cambridge Station Commander, Brigadier Pumla Mdlankomo commended her members for apprehending the suspect.
