Murder investigation: Man shot and set alight, Despatch

The body of an unknown man, presumably in his thirties, was found at about 10:40 by a herder, on Monday, 9 December 2019, in the bushes next to the Perseverance Road, Despatch. According to police information the victim was shot and set alight.

The man was clothed in red shorts and a red-and-white striped shirt. Police have opened a case of murder and is appealing to anyone who can assist in their investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Welile Sogaxa on 084 212 9908, SAPS Despatch on 041 933 8000 or the nearest police station.

The SAPS encourages the community to work with the SAPS in reducing crime and they appeal to the community to provide valuable information that will lead to the arrest of those involved in crime.
