On 19 January 2018, SAPS K9 Unit, Operational Command Center and Crime Intelligence Unit members conducted an operation at Mbeki Locality and arrested a 27 year female and 39 year old male for possession of drugs after they were found in possession of dagga, 8 mandrax tablets, 100 x whoonga packs and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The estimated street value of drugs is R 3160. They will appear in court soon.
During compliance inspection visits at various liquor outlets, unlicensed liquor outlets were closed down for not complying with the Liquor Act and liquor was subsequently confiscated.
The Stock theft Unit from Flagstaff followed up positive information and they recovered 3 cows and 13 goats which were reported stolen and were handed over to the lawful owners.
A 33 year old man was arrested at Taweni Locality for alleged murder that occurred at Qhasa Locality in August 2017 where a 89 year old woman and her 46 year old daughter were found brutally killed.
