Algoa Park police are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in identifying or tracing the next of kin of a female whose body was found in the salt pans in Missionvale.

It is alleged that on Friday, 21 February 2020, at about 07:45, police were summoned to the salt pans in Missionvale where they discovered the body of a coloured female, aged between 20 and 25 years old.

She was dressed only in a black gown with no underwear. She was wearing a black pump shoe while the other shoe was in the water. There was an olive green cloth/scarf wrapped around her neck. She had multiple stab wounds and bruises to her body.

The identity of the young woman is unknown at this stage.
