According to testimony given during the trial, the 27 year old Andile Ace September and his 32 year old brother, Xolani September had an argument about money on 10 November 2017, which resulted in Andile stabbing his older brother, Xolani.

Andile September was arrested the same day on a charge of murder after Xolani passed away in hospital a few hours after the stabbing.

On Monday, 1 April 2019, Andile Ace September was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Uitenhage Regional Court on a charge of murder. The acting Uitenhage Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ronald Koll commended the investigating officer for the effective and efficient manner in which he performed his investigations. “This conviction and lengthy sentence meted out by our courts are as a result of thorough investigations by our detectives, who gathered all relevant evidence to successfully link the offender to the crime”.
