Moyeni police station attack: Police mobilize '72 Hour Activation Plan'

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has ordered the mobilization of the 72-hour Activation Plan following an armed robbery at Moyeni Police Station in the early hours of Saturday, 19 December 2020 in the Amathole District.

As the suspects were fleeing from the station they came across another member just outside the Community Service Centre whom they also robbed of a police vehicle which was later found abandoned about two Kilometres from the police station. All the suspects are still at large.

“This attack on the police station is viewed very seriously to which we have mobilized maximum resources to track down these robbers” said Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga.

Members of the community are urged to please inform the police should they have information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects. They can do so by dialling the Crime Stop number, 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS App, an application which can be downloaded on any Android or iPhone via Playstore.
