A 62-year-old traffic officer from the King Sabatha Dalindyebo local municipality was shot and killed while on duty in the CBD early this afternoon, 10 October 2022.

It is alleged that at about 12:15, Traffic Officer Daniel Mxoli stopped a silver grey Toyota Tazz when an argument ensued between himself and the driver of the vehicle.

The vehicle drove off and parked nearby.

The driver of the vehicle approached the traffic officer and shot him twice before fleeing in his car.

A case of murder is under investigation.
