More illegal firearms recovered in Mthatha area, Tina Falls

Operation Coastal Storm yielded good results when two suspects aged 26 and 43 years were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and illegal possession of ammunition at Buhlungwana locality today the 22 May 2018 at about 03h00.

Tina Falls Vispol and Detectives were on operation and followed a positive information when they found a 26 year old suspect with a 9mm Norinco pistol, an empty magazine and two empty cartridges. They proceeded to another homestead and found a 43 year old suspect with two rounds of a 9mm pistol.

Both suspects are due to appear before Libode Magistrate Court tomorrow the 23 May 2018 and the firearm will be sent for ballistic testing.

“These are the fruits of having good relations with the communities we serve. It is of utmost importance that each and every member should have an informer that will assist us in bringing to book the perpetrators of crime.” Said the Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza commending these members.
