Six men, with ages ranging between 35 to 45 years and two women 44 and 52 years, have been arrested at Phase 1 locality Bhongweni A/A on 13 August 2019.
The suspects were arrested following murder of a 28 year old man whilst a 24 year old was assaulted and rushed to hospital. It is alleged that the suspects kidnapped the victims from their homes before they were assaulted them until one man died on the spot at Bhongweni on 2 July 2019.
The deceased and the victim were accused of housebreaking and theft at a certain homestead where a cell phone was allegedly stolen.
The suspects will appear before Mthatha Magistrate Court on 15 August 2019, facing charges of kidnapping, assault GBH and murder.
More arrests are imminent.
