Mdantsane police are searching for three armed suspects after a hardware store was robbed on the morning of 26 September 2021.
It is alleged that at about 11:55, four suspects entered the store and held the staff at gunpoint.
Three suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The fourth suspect was apprehended by members of the community as he was trying to escape. He was severely assaulted and succumbed to his injuries at hospital.
A 9mm pistol was also confiscated. The firearm will be sent to ballistics for analysis.
Police are investigating cases of business robbery and murder.
