A large-scale police operation is underway in Missionvale following a brazen attack on a police patrol vehicle on Sunday evening, which left one officer seriously injured.
According to police records, the incident occurred around 23:00 on Sunday, 28 September 2025. Members from the Algoa Park South African Police Service (SAPS) were conducting routine patrols on Jack Road in Missionvale when an unidentified man emerged from between houses and opened fire on their vehicle.
One police constable sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the assault. He was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. The suspect managed to flee the scene and remains at large.
