Vincent Pillay, the chief financial officer of East London’s Greater Municipality, has been suspended over the Nelson Mandela funeral scandal.
In December 2017, the Public Protector pointed out Pillay in the R6 million scandal.
The money was apparently “used” to transport funeral attendants during Mandela’s funeral.
Pillay was suspended during a council meeting.
