A 38 year old resident of Brymore in Port Elizabeth was seriously injured when he was assaulted with a panga during a home invasion attack around 02:20 on Wednesday morning 6 January 2021. The man’s wife was overpowered by one black male attacker when she went to the bathroom.
The attacker gained entry through a bathroom window. The woman screamed after which her husband came to help her but another three black male attackers came through a sliding door.
The man was slashed with the panga and sustained deep cuts all over his legs and body. The attackers fled with a laptop and 2 cellphones.
No arrests had been made. The man had to be hospitalised.
