Willowvale Regional Magistrates’ Court convicted and sentenced 54 year old man, Mgusheni Njingaza to undergo twenty years imprisonment for raping an 11 year old girl. The accused was sentenced on Friday 7 December 2018 at the Willowvale Regional Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that the victim was seen coming from the house of the accused on 26 August 2018 at about 18:00 at Kulomzana Locality, Mhlahlane Village, Willowvale. The mother of the victim asked her daughter what she was doing at the house of the accused. The victim told her mother that she was raped by the accused person.
A case of rape was opened at Willowvale Police Station and later transferred to Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS). The accused was traced and arrested.
