Police in Walmer seek community assistance in identifying the body of an unknown man that was found on a gravel road between Willow and Yellowood Road in Fairview, Walmer.
According to police information, at about 08:00 this morning, 19 July 2018, a person walking to work discovered the body of a white male lying in the bushes alongside the road.
The deceased is approx. 55 to 60 years old and he was clad in blue jeans, white socks, a navy blue jacket, check shirt and a brown leather belt. He was brutally murdered. Both his hands and feet were bound with a nylon cord and his head covered and severely beaten.
Police believe that the body was dumped between last night and this morning. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder is unknown at this stage.
Police appeal to anyone who may know of a person that is missing since yesterday or may be able to locate the next of kin or possibly identify the deceased to contact SAPS Walmer on 041 581 1406.
