A 22 year old Centane man was arrested for alleged rape of a 68 year old woman. It is alleged that the victim was asleep at her home on Thursday, 9 January 2020, at about 20:00 at Komkhulu Locality, Gqunqe Village, Centane.
The suspect kicked the door open to gain entry. The victim tried to defend herself but she was overpowered by the suspect. The suspect is alleged to have raped the victim.
The suspect was identified by the victim. He was traced and arrested. He has been charged with rape. The suspect is appearing before the Centane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 13 January 2020, on a charge of rape.
