A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following a deadly altercation outside a tavern in Keiskammahoek on Good Friday.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Friday, 03 April 2026, at approximately 20:30 outside a tavern in the Endlovini Administrative Area.

Two men were involved in a fight that escalated into a fatal stabbing. The victim, aged 32, sustained stab wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at the nearest hospital.

The 23-year-old suspect fled the scene but was traced and apprehended by police. He is scheduled to appear in the Keiskammahoek Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 07 April 2026, to face a charge of murder.
