A 36-year-old male was arrested on 27 June 2017 for dealing in mandrax in Govan Mbeki locality in Kwadwesi.
This follows after the Motherwell Operational Command Centre received information of the drugs at a house in the area. On searching the premises at about 23:00, a shotgun round and more than 1300 tablets of mandrax were found with an estimated street market value of R65 000-00.
The suspect will be charged for dealing in mandrax as well as the illegal possession of ammunition. He will appear before the New Brighton Magistrates Court on 29 June 2017.
