Crime intelligence operation led to the arrest of a 40 year old man by Butterworth Police. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday 26 March 2019, at about 23:00 at Ndabakazi Junction, outside Butterworth.
The suspect was found with unlicensed firearm, a pistol with one live round of ammunition. The suspect will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 27 March 2019 on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The firearm will be sent for ballistic test to establish if it was not used in the commission of crime around Butterworth and the surrounding areas.
