Dutywa police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy, Eastern Cape police said on Saturday.
The boy and the suspect were both in a tavern at Ngxakaxha village, Zimpuku locality, Dutywa, Captain Jackson Manatha said.
The murder was committed at about 2.30am on Saturday, but the motive was unclear at this stage.
“The deceased was struck with a stick on his upper body. He was taken to his home where he died while waiting for the ambulance.”
The suspect would appear in the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a murder charge, Manatha said.
