Butterworth police have arrested a 58-year-old man for the alleged murder of a 32-year-old man, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday.
The two men were allegedly drinking in a tavern at Eugene temporary houses in Zitulele township, Butterworth, at about 9pm on Saturday, spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha said.
“The deceased was stabbed on his upper body and died at the scene. The motive for the murder is not clear at the moment.”
The suspect was arrested at the scene and would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder, Manatha said.
