A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Kabokweni, outside White River, following shocking allegations that he murdered his 44-year-old elder sister and concealed her body in a shallow grave at his residence.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, 03 June 2025, after police received information that the suspect had confessed to burying his sister’s body in his yard. According to reports, the man admitted to having a heated argument with his sister on 29 May 2024, which allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation. He claimed to have struck her, resulting in her death, before burying her and keeping the crime secret for nearly a year.
Authorities have yet to exhume the victim’s body, but the South African Police Service (SAPS) Forensic Services and the K9 Unit have been notified to assist in the investigation. Police confirm that due legal processes will be followed, and further updates on the case will be provided to the public in due course.
