A 45-year-old male was arrested at a roadblock on the morning of 16 April 2020, at about 08:30, after he was found transporting about R250 000 worth of dagga.
This followed after police conducting a roadblock at Colchester in terms of the Covid-19 lockdown and Disaster Management Act, searched a white Toyota Quantum minibus with trailer.
Six (6) large bags containing just under 120 kilograms of dagga was found inside the trailer and minibus. The 45-year-old driver was arrested and charged for dealing in dagga as well as contravening regulations under the Disaster Management Act for travelling between districts during the Covid 19 lockdown without a permit.
The vehicle and trailer was also impounded for further investigation.
