On Friday, 10 November 2017, swift action by members of St Francis Bay and relentless efforts to ensure that offenders are brought to book, led to the speedy arrest of a 24 year old male suspect on a charge of murder, within four hours after committing an offence.

It is alleged that the 25 year old victim and friends were busy talking in Tarragona Road, Sea Vista, St Francis Bay.

According to information, the 24 year old male suspect approached the victim at about 15:30. The suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed The victim in his chest. He died on the scene and the suspect fled into the bushes.

Police were summoned to the scene which led to a comprehensive search of the area. At about 19:30 on 10 November 2017, the suspect was apprehended in Sea Vista and the alleged murder weapon was also seized.

The Acting Cluster Commander of Humansdorp, Colonel Simon Swarts, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family for their loss and commended the police officials for their swift action that resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

The 24 year old Sea Vista man is due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrates court on Monday, 13 November 2017, on a charge of murder.
