An inquest docket has been opened after the body of a 54-year-old man was found burned in his informal home in Moeggesukkel, Uitenhage at about 20:30 on the night of 9 April 2021.
It is alleged that SAPS Kamesh members responded to a complaint of a house that was burning. Members from the Fire Department, who were already on the scene, managed to extinguish the fire.
The burnt remains of the man was discovered under the debris. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
The name of the deceased will be released after formal identification was completed.
