Before the court could sentence the accused on the Monday, 6 August 2018, the court heard that on 11 October 2014 the accused, Naphi Bonga (29) called the victim (12), to pay a visit to his homestead in Masakala village, near to Matatiele.
The victim indeed came to pay a visit and when she got at the accused homestead, the accused told her to go to his room, inside the house, and thereafter he raped her repeatedly.
Having raped her, he gave her a bottle of cold drink in order not to tell anyone about the rape incident and released her to go back home.
The Regional Court sentenced him to undergo a life sentence.
