More than thirty suspects aged between 18 and 46 years were arrested over the weekend for various crimes in King Williams Town Cluster.

Police embarked on various operations in the King William’s Town Cluster areas over the weekend and also busy with stop and search and managed to arrest these suspects. They were charged with crimes ranging from murder, drunk and driving, possession of drugs, rape, robbery, possession of suspected stolen property, house breaking and theft, drunk and disorderly, Burglary, Common Assault and Malicious damage to property.

Farms were visited and taverns were also visited for compliance. During the operations dangerous weapons, drugs, plasma television were confiscated by Police.

On a separate incident Flying Squad received an information of a male that is selling drugs in the King Williams Town area. On arrival to the suspect’s house, members searched and found 44x hits of cocaine with the estimate street value of R6000-00 and an undisclosed amount of cash.

These suspects are expected to appear at different Magistrate courts.

King William’s Town SAPS Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga said Police will be continuing with these operations for crime prevention purposes. He encouraged the community members to keep on reporting any criminal activities to the nearest Police Station or 08600 10111.
