King William’s Town cluster operation netts 18 wanted suspects

On the night of 16 May 2019, police embarked on an operation in tracing the suspects from cases that were opened in Zwelitsha and King Williams Town Police Stations and it yielded good results.

King Williams Town Detectives are investigating cases where other suspects are known but still at large and others are wanted suspects. They embarked on an operation to trace these suspects from 02:00 till 07:00 and arrested nine suspects aged between 22 and 45 years for assault and intimidation.

In a separate incident, Detectives from Zwelitsha SAPS worked in the early hours and arrested nine suspects for theft general, warrant of arrest and housebreaking and theft. Detectives are on a mission to trace all suspects of old cases and ensure that they bring perpetrators to justice.

These suspects will appear at King Williams Town and Zwelitsha Magistrate courts on Monday.

King William’s Town SAPS Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga said Police are committed in fighting crime and in full force in tracking down the perpetrators of crime. “We will keep on doing operations and ensure that perpetrators are behind bars.”

He also thanked the community for sharing valuable information with SAPS and encouraged them to report any criminal activities to 08600 10111.
