During the weekend, members of the King William’s Town Cluster managed to put behind bars more than fifty (50) offenders for various crimes.

The suspects aged between 24 and 65 years were arrested for crimes ranging from drunk driving, assault, theft and possession of stolen property, housebreaking and theft. In a Crime Intelligence driven operation with members of Flying Squad and K9 Unit members, three suspects from different areas in the King William’s Town area were arrested for dealing in drugs.

This also includes the arrest of a twenty six year old female from Rhayi Village on Saturday night 2 February 2019, at about 21h00 for dealing in drugs. The suspect was caught in possession of ten x half mandrax tablets and mandrax powder in small plastic bags.

Other suspects are from Stutterheim were found with two mandrax tablets, five halves and eight quarter mandrax tablets and six straws of TIK . Police confiscated drugs to the street value of more than one thousand rand and an undisclosed amount of cash.

In a separate incident Police recovered a plasma television, a television stand, a lounge suite, LG sound system, coffee table cloths and it were subsequently returned to the lawful owner.

King William’s Town Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended all members who worked diligently to prevent crime. “Police will continue with these operations as part of proactive policing and crime prevention”, he added.
