The wife of a medical doctor from Graaff-Reinet, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, died on Thursday morning 8 July 2021 after she was stabbed by a home invader. Karen Marais (57), the wife of Dr Marais, was stabbed by an intruder after she discovered the man in the house.
Karen and her daughter followed the attacker as he went outside where he stabbed her.
Her family helped her into the house where her husband tried to save her life.
Dr. Marais rushed his wife to the Midland hospital but she succumbed to her injuries and sadly passed away.
The local Police has confirmed that they are investigating a case of murder.
There have been no arrests.
