The focusing and strategic deployment of members by the Mount Road COCC in the crime hot spots, most certainly yields positive results.
On 9 August 2017 at about 22:30, Bethelsdorp members were patrolling in Calm Street when they noticed a suspicious male walking. The male appeared to be nervous and he was seen taking out an object that resembled a firearm and threw it against a pole. He then hastened his walk.
The members discovered that it was a firearm and immediately arrested the suspect who is a member of the Kakmaker Gang.
The suspect was detained and will appear in court soon.
