K9 members were busy patrolling Lusikisiki area and received a message that there was a motor vehicle, an Audi A4, which was reported stolen at New Town. They traced that information and when they were at Milizole Locality they spotted the vehicle.
When they chased the vehicle the driver shot at the police. When the suspect noticed that the police were nearby he jumped out of the car and ran away.
Due to the fact that it was dark the K9 members were unable to find him, which is when they used the dog to trace the suspect. This resulted in the suspect’s phone being recovered.
The police members returned to the car and found 5x 9mm parabellum magazines, 27x 9mm live rounds and two live shells. The car was confiscated.
