A 43-year-old foreign national was arrested on Thursday, 19 March 2026, following an intelligence-driven operation conducted by police in KwaMaqoma. Authorities seized drugs with an estimated street value of approximately R400,000.
During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered 510 mandrax tablets, two large plastic bags and two medium plastic bags containing tik (crystal meth), along with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect was arrested on charges of possession and dealing in drugs and is being detained at the KwaMaqoma police station.
A white Toyota Corolla, believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, was also seized. All seized items, including the vehicle, were booked in as exhibits for further investigation.
