Incompetence leads to water wastage and shortages, Nelson Mandela Bay Metro

After the FF Plus in the Eastern Cape put pressure on the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Council’s Mayoral Committee to repair the water leakages in the Metro, the problem is finally being addressed.

Inspections were conducted at various problem points that the FF Plus reported to the Metro and some of the leakages where millions of liters of clean, drinking water went to waste have already been repaired.

The Eastern Cape, especially the NMBM, has a serious shortage of water and the FF Plus received more and more complaints from residents about water leakages that are not being repaired and the general feeling is that residents are being punished with water restrictions due to the Metro’s incompetence.

The FF Plus wants to encourage residents to keep putting pressure on the Metro by reporting water leakages and insisting that they must be repaired.

The FF Plus in the Eastern Cape agrees that it is unacceptable and that it is the local Metro’s laxity and incompetence that cause the water taps to frequently run dry and the party has committed itself to follow up on all water leakages that are reported to the Metro and to keep holding the Metro accountable for the wastage of water.

The FF Plus will, in the best interest of all Metro residents, keep doing everything in its power to fight against poor service delivery.
