Following the arrest of 15 suspects including the one believed to be the mastermind, the Provincial Anti Corruption Task Team arrested a 32 year old Pumza Fayo in King Williams Town on 10 July 2019, for fraud, forgery and money laundering including other charges.

The Lovedale College student is believed to be part of a syndicate that has been involved in fraudulent activities relating to imported cars illegally registered with the Transport Department and SAPS in the Eastern Cape Province.

The female suspect appeared in Komga Magistrates’ Court today on charges relating to the contravention of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, the Customs and Excise Act, fraud and forgery.

She was granted bail and is expected to return to court together with the other co-accused on the 19 September 2019 for trial.
