Swift response to information received, resulted in the arrest of a 39 year old suspect and the confiscation if an illegal firearm in Summerstrand yesterday morning, 18 October 2021.
It is alleged that at about 08:30 on the mentioned date, members proceeded to a parking area in a recreational spot in Summerstrand where they spotted the suspect’s vehicle.
Members cautiously approached the suspect and on searching him, they seized a .38 revolver from his waist (serial number filed off).
He was detained on a charge of possession of a prohibited firearm. The suspect’s white Ford Fiesta was also confiscated.
Segebo Lekebi Ali appeared in the Gqeberha magistrate court on 19 October 2021 and the case is postponed to 20 October 2021.
