Enhanced police visibility in the hot spot areas of the Northern areas resulted in the arrest of a housebreaking suspect.
At about 14:00 on 17 December 2017 members of the National Intervention Team were patrolling in Bethelsdorp when they were stopped by a complainant who informed them that he knew the whereabouts of one of the suspects that broke into his house.
It is alleged that about 02:00 the complainant had just arrived at his house in Willam Slammert Road in Bethelsdorp when he saw the suspects running with household items which included 2 x TV sets, clothing etc.
Members immediately took the complainant to a house in Greenfields where a 34 year old suspect was arrested. The stolen property was recovered and handed back to the owner.
The suspect is detained on a charge of housebreaking and will appear in court on 18 December 2017.
