Horrific double farm murder: Victims names released, 3 arrested, Maclear

The names of the 2 men who were found murdered on a smallholding at Maclear in the Eastern Cape have been released.
They are Eugene Peter du Plessis (54) and Sidwell Pepper (44). The two men were found with their hands tied and throats slit on Monday 17 February 2020 at about 12:00 by Police. Police discovered a gruesome scene and there were signs of horrific violence.

Police made 3 arrests in connection with the murder on the same day. Du Plessis was the owner and Pepper was a friend who visited him. A TV set and cash were found in the possession of the accused. Police say they suspect the motive was house robbery.

The 3 accused Andile Poni (40), Nkosivumile Mrwetyana (40) and a 17 year old youth appeared in court and the case was postponed.
