Police in Mthatha are looking for information that may lead to the arrest of the assailant/s who shot and killed a 55 year old woman and a 25 year old man at Tyumbu locality in Mthatha in the early hours of 24 May 2019.
It is alleged that an 18 year old granddaughter to the deceased woman saw the door to her grandmother’s room was open and when she went to check she found both bodies lying in a pool of blood.
When police investigated the scene it is suspected that the assailant/s gained entrance by breaking the burglar guards and the door. Both the deceased sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Several cartridges of a 9mm pistol were collected from the scene.
