On 26 January 2017, two suspects were arrested in the bushes close to Addo Road, Motherwell. The arrests are linked to the hijack and robbery of two American Tourists on 18 January 2017.
The property belonging to the tourists, Mr and Mrs Webb, were confiscated. On further inspection of the belongings, a camera and memory card was found. The South African Police Service is proud of its members involved in this recovery and the arrests of two suspects, aged 32 and 25, as the American couple indicated that their most valuable possessions that were robbed was the photographs on the camera.
SAPS will be handing the property back to their owners as soon as the preliminiary investigation have been completed. The suspects will appear in Motherwell Magistrate Court on Monday 30 January 2017. More arrests are expected soon.
