As part of Back to Basics policing approach, the involvement of different role players such as Tracker in the recovery of stolen or hijacked vehicles played a role on Friday, 27 April 2018, at about 13:15 while members of Highway Patrol and COCC were on duty they were contacted by Tracker in East London with regards to a vehicle that was hijacked.
The members responded to the call and with the assistance of the Tracker device in the VW they recovered the vehicle at Tapoleng, a rural area in Sterkspruit.
The suspect fled the scene but the vehicle was successfully recovered. The Cluster Commander Brig Xakavu applauded the members on the recovery and emphasised how important the involvement of all relevant stakeholders in all aspects of policing are to our success.
