Through the COCC, the cooperation and joint action between policing units and disciplines continue to bear the fruits of success in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth.

In a 24 hour period on 18 and 19 January 2018, 6 arrests were effected for serious crimes where firearms and drugs are our main concern in these areas.

Two x .38 revolvers with ammunition, 2 hijacked vehicles, mandrax, dagga and knives were confiscated.

The Cluster Commander for Mount Road, Major General Thembisile Patekile has vowed to clean up the area of drugs and firearms.

“We are coming after these criminals who think they can rule our communities. We will ensure that everything is done to maintain law and order in these hot spot areas within the confines of the law. Communities are urged to get actively involved with police and together we will win against these hoodlums,” added Maj Gen Patekile.
