Three suspects were arrested shortly after a robbery at a chain store in Govan Mbeki Ave in central on Thursday afternoon, 8 June 2023.
It is alleged that at approximately 16:30 on abovementioned date, three suspects entered the shop.
One suspect armed with a firearm pointed the staff with a firearm and smashed the cell phone display cabinet.
The suspects took 14 different cell phones and as the suspect were about to exit, the manager ran outside and alerted patrolling Metro Police officers.
They immediately responded and arrested all three suspects. The officers recovered a toy firearm and the cell phones that were taken during the robbery.
The suspects were detained on charges of business robbery and will appear in the Gqeberha magsitrate court on Monday, 12 June 2023.
