The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has reiterated her determination to root out criminal elements masquerading as public servants in government institutions whilst stealing from the poor.

General Ntshinga’s statement is a sequel to the arrest of two suspects aged between 28 and 29 believed to be a Pharmacist and Pharmacy assistant on Tuesday, 18 February 2020, at their home at Amalinda, East London.

The SAPS members who were in possession of a search warrant, found Government Medicines, live ammunition, Dagga and a measuring-scale.

It is not clear what the two suspects were doing with these medicines. However, the investigation is underway to establish if the suspects were not possibly running an illegal Clinic.

The arrested suspects are expected to appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court on charges relating to theft, possession of dagga, live ammunition and dealing in Dagga.
