Dutywa Police arrested a 27 year old man on the morning of Tuesday 28 May 2019, for theft out of motor vehicle. It is alleged that some German tourists had parked their car and went to buy some meat at a local shop. This was on Monday, 27 May 2019 at about 07:00.

When they came out of the shop, they discovered that their vehicle had been broken into and some of their belongings stolen. The suspect was arrested at a nearby informal settlement. The belongings were recovered and handed over to the lawful owners.

The suspect will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 28 May 2019 on a charge of theft out of motor vehicle. Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu commended Dutywa police for their swift reaction in arresting the suspect and recovering their belongings.
